Lone Worker Product Update – Upcoming Enhancement to the Amber Timer Feature

Product Update

Following valuable feedback from our customers, we’re excited to announce an upcoming improvement to the Amber Timer within our RedAlert Professional mobile app. This enhancement is designed to make the feature clearer, more user-friendly, and to further improve peace of mind when using the service.

Currently within our RedAlert Professional app, the Amber Timer runs two separate timers: one locally on the handset and one within our ARC. This dual system provides a vital safety net, ensuring an alert is raised even if GSM/Wi-Fi signal is lost or a phone powers off due to low battery. We’ve listened carefully to your feedback and recognise that the current cancellation message on the app can sometimes be confusing – particularly when connectivity issues mean the ARC timer is still active.

To address this, we’re introducing several improvements:

  • Clearer Home Screen Status: The app will now display whether both the handset and ARC timers have been cancelled. If the ARC timer cannot be cancelled due to poor signal, the app will keep retrying until successful or until the ARC timer expires naturally.
  • Improved Notifications: Messages will be reworded to make it immediately clear what is happening, eliminating any ambiguity for the user.

Timeline for release

Development is already underway and is expected to be completed within the next 4-6 weeks. Once finalised, the update will be available via the relevant app stores. We’ll also be inviting customers to take part in our beta testing trial, giving you the chance to experience the improvements first-hand and share your feedback.

We’d like to thank our customers for their continued input, which plays a vital role in shaping our services for the future. These enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to improving safety, clarity, and user experience for our lone worker customers.
