Product Update: Precise Location Sharing for Lone Workers

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our services for customers, we’ve now added a new feature by integrating What3Words into our Sentinel alarm handling platform.

With this update, whenever an alarm is raised, our team can quickly identify the lone worker’s precise location and share it with emergency services or escalation contacts. Instead of relying on long GPS coordinates or unclear directions, a simple three-word reference pinpoints the exact 3m x 3m square where help is needed.

This makes it easier and faster for responders to reach the right location – whether it’s in a remote rural area, a large industrial site, or anywhere that doesn’t have an obvious address.

Why this matters

Faster response times – In an emergency, every second counts. What3Words helps responders get to the right place without confusion.

Accurate in any environment – Even in places without a clear address, responders can still be guided to the exact spot where help is needed.

Simple and reliable – Instead of long GPS coordinates or unclear descriptions, a three-word address is easy to communicate and understand.

What’s next?

We’re also working to add this feature into our Sentry platform so lone workers and managers will be able to see the What3Words location directly within the app.

This update is designed to give lone workers extra reassurance that if something happens, help can be sent quickly and precisely – no matter where they are. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to continuously update and improve our products, making sure lone workers always have the most reliable tools to stay safe and supported.
