Lone Worker Product Update – MFA Launching on the Sentry Portal

Lone Worker Product Update

Multi-Factor Authentication Launching on the Orbis Sentry Portal

As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting both, we will be enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the Sentry Portal from the 16th of March.

At Orbis Protect, the safety of your people and the security of your data are our highest priorities. As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting both, we will be enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the Sentry Portal from the 16th of March.

Why are we introducing MFA?

The Sentry Portal contains sensitive information, including user details, locations, and safety activity. While usernames and passwords remain important, they are increasingly vulnerable to theft, reuse, or compromise.

MFA adds an additional layer of protection by requiring a second verification step when logging in. This means that even if a password were ever compromised, unauthorised access to your Sentry account would still be prevented.

What are the benefits to you?

  • Enhanced account security for administrators and users
  • Reduced risk of unauthorised access to sensitive lone worker data
  • Alignment with industry best practice and modern cybersecurity standards
  • Greater confidence that your lone worker management system is protected

My company uses Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in to the portal. Will this affect me?

No. If you currently log in to the Sentry Portal using your company email address via Single Sign-On (SSO), this will remain unaffected and no changes are required. Your company’s existing SSO authentication and MFA policies will continue to apply.

What will change?

From 16th March, when MFA is enforced, any users who do not already have MFA in place will be prompted to verify their mobile number to complete the setup process.

Once enabled, whenever a user logs in using their username and password, they will receive an SMS (text message) containing a unique 4-digit code. This additional step takes only a few seconds and significantly strengthens account security.

Steps to setup

Step 1

Login to the Sentry portal using your usual username and password:

Step 2

When prompted enter the mobile number of the handset you wish to receive the 4-digit number on and click the Verify button:

Step 3

You will then receive an SMS to the chosen number containing the 4-digit number.  Please enter this number into the prompted screen and click Verify.

At this point you will be logged into the Sentry portal and MFA will be enabled against your account.
