Our client needed a dependable and comprehensive security solution for their property – a large, vacant office block in Reading. The building was undergoing a full internal strip-out, which heightened the risks of unauthorised access, vandalism, and theft during its unoccupied period.
Given the scale and vulnerability of the site, a bespoke security strategy was essential. This included safeguarding both the perimeter and internal access points to ensure the property remained secure throughout the renovation process.

Securing a Prominent Vacant Site:
The property’s size, visibility, and location made it a potential target for unauthorised entry, criminal activity, and anti-social behaviour. A comprehensive solution was needed to maintain site integrity over an extended period.
Preventing Intrusion and Vandalism:

Perimeter Surveillance with Solar CCTV Towers:
Three Tetra Solar CCTV Towers were deployed and positioned at key vantage points around the site. These towers provided full 360-degree external coverage, effectively deterring unauthorised access and enabling real-time surveillance of the site’s perimeter.
Internal Intrusion Detection with Temporary Alarm System:
A Videofied temporary alarm system was installed inside the building, specifically covering vulnerable access points. The system was configured to trigger immediate alerts to our Alarm Receiving Centre in the event of a breach, enabling rapid incident response.
Integrated Approach with On-Site Guarding:
Our technology solutions were seamlessly integrated into the client’s existing manned guarding provision. This layered approach allowed for proactive monitoring, real-time escalation, and swift physical response if required – ensuring round-the-clock site protection.
Rapid Deployment and Adaptability:
Our solar-powered CCTV towers required no fixed power infrastructure, allowing for quick installation and flexible repositioning in line with the evolving needs of the strip-out operations. This not only reduced setup time but also provided cost efficiencies and minimal disruption to site activities.
Since the system was deployed in September 2024, we have delivered uninterrupted security coverage, ensuring a safe and stable environment throughout the property’s vacancy and internal strip-out.
