The iconic Civic Centre in Haringey, a listed building undergoing redevelopment by John Sisk & Son Ltd on behalf of Haringey Council, required a security solution that could protect their site without compromising its heritage value. With sustainability being a core priority from the outset, our EnviroHoard™ system was chosen to deliver secure, environmentally responsible site protection – perfectly aligned with the project’s goals.

Our Challenges

  • Delivering a decorative hoarding that aligned with the client’s branding and aesthetic expectations, while ensuring long-term structural integrity.
  • Complying with Temporary Works (TW) design standards for a projected lifespan of up to 10 years.
  • Building in flexibility for phased works, allowing the hoarding line to be reconfigured as the project progressed – without triggering costly redesigns or delays.
  • Integrating both in-ground and on-ground systems, carefully adapted to suit varying site conditions and underground service constraints.
  • Meeting tight delivery and installation timelines, while achieving a high-quality finish in line with John Sisk & Son’s detailed specifications.

To meet the client’s aesthetic, environmental, and security requirements, we delivered a comprehensive perimeter solution centred around our EnviroHoard™ system – a zero-maintenance hoarding with no ongoing decorative costs.

Security meets sustainability – our deliverables

  • 198 metres of in-ground EnviroHoard™, providing a robust, stable, and sustainable boundary for the majority of the site.
  • 21 metres of on-ground EnviroHoard™, ideal for areas with underground services or requiring temporary reconfiguration.
  • Full graphic application to John Sisk & Son’s specification, ensuring a consistent and high-quality corporate appearance.
  • 5 double-leaf vehicle gates (6m each), enabling secure, controlled access for plant and vehicles.
  • 3 pedestrian gates, offering safe and secure entry for workers and visitors.
  • Custom graphic stickers applied directly to the panel face, achieving a clean, branded finish without the need for vinyl.

To enhance site protection, we also installed a 14-camera wired CCTV system, delivering comprehensive and reliable security coverage throughout the site.

Besides providing a comprehensive security solution, EnviroHoard™ delivered significant environmental and operational benefits compared to traditional hoarding – while fully supporting the client’s sustainability and efficiency goals.

As a net zero, zero maintenance, and zero waste solution, our systems required no repainting or repairs, and each component was fully reusable. Built-in flexibility also allowed the hoarding line to be adjusted as the project evolved, without compromising Temporary Works compliance.

By combining EnviroHoard™ with vinyl-free graphics, the project achieved a measurable environmental impact.
