Whitchurch – Site Security Incident

On the 14th August 2024 at 02:59 AM, our Alarm Receiving Centre Team received a motion alert from one of our on-site CCTV towers. Our ARC operation team immediately accessed all systems on site to review live footage to determine the cause of the activation.

Immediately, they were able to identify two males, wearing tracksuits, trespassing with the site grounds which had been clearly marked as strictly no entry. At 3:02 AM, our operator issued a live audio warning from the nearest tower to advise the intruders that their presence was known and to vacate the premises immediately. This warning appeared to be ignored and contact was made with our on-site security guards who were informed of the issue and were guided to the location of the intruders in real-time.

At 3:10 AM, the Police were also informed of the situation and told the operator that they were on route to the incident. Meanwhile, our on-site guards had located the intruders who then attempted to flee the site, before successfully detaining them both. Police arrived on scene at 3:16 AM and proceeded to arrest the intruders before taking them to the local station.

Our customer contact was immediately informed about the sitution and was very relieved that this incident was reolved without damage to the property, loss of assets or injury to anyone involved.

During the initial site inspection with our client, it was agreed that due to the size and scope of this particular site, multiple security solutions needed to be in place to cover for all incidents. Through the utilisation of both technology and physical security, this case was successsfully managed and resolved within 17 minutes of the initial alert.
