Orbis Operative fitting a steel security screen onto a property

Meeting Our Customers’ Needs

ASL made contact with our Key Account Manager, Shane Cooper, following a string of antisocial behaviour issues at one of their blocks of flats in Stockton, near Middlesborough. Previously, one former tenant had engaged in criminal activity from their flat, including drug dealing and other illegal antisocial behaviour before being evicted. Unfortunately, this issue resulted in a knock-on effect for the new tenant, an elderly gentleman, who began to receive unwanted attention from the previous tenant’s ‘customers’ attempting to collect old debts, which resulted in threatening behaviour on a daily basis. Problems stemmed mainly from attempted access into the flat and at one point, 8 strangers had tried to squat at the property.

As the gentleman’s flat was located on the third floor, unwanted traffic had also escalated on the lower-level floors which began to cause issues for other residents too.

Providing Real Solutions

Our challenges on this particular site were the location of the property and the urgency to deliver a solution. We recommended the fitting of a temporary steel door to the flat, as the existing door had been badly damaged and could be accessed with minimal effort.

The site is located in central Stockton, where there is literally nowhere to park, so we needed to work out the best way to transport a heavy-duty steel door. This was resolved through using additional resource and we managed to get the door fitted within 48 hours of the job being requested, much to the satisfaction of our customer.

Our customer had this to say –

“I would just like to say the service I have received from all the guys at Orbis, from start to finish, has been nothing but 5 STARS!  Being in a difficult situation that needed rectifying at very short notice, I was helped from start to finish with such ease. From setting up an account, to the door I needed actually being fitted, and rang constantly throughout the process. I cannot recommend Orbis highly enough.”

Results That Matter

Since our installation over a month ago, the new heavy duty security door has provided the tenants with peace of mind that their flat is secure from attempted break-ins. Over a short period of time, the original issues have significantly reduced, and normality is now returning for the tenants.

This type of instance is just one of many that we like to recognise within Orbis. It is through a flexible rapid response service and cost-efficient problem solving, that we continue to grow our relationships with our customers.
